War Protestors storm Halliburton, Bechtel, Carslyle Group in DC

Yesterday antiwar protestors marked the third anniversary of the invasion of Iraq by storming the lobbies of Halliburton and Bechtel, then moved on to enter the offices of the Carslyle Group, a major investor in war.

We chose these targets because they are essentially the Pentagon's masters. This is especially true of Halliburton, which has gotten the lion's share of the "reconstruction" contracts in Iraq, whose former CEO is Cheney!

Since Carslyle Group has an unattended lobby, we went to their second floor office and presented them with the names of all the dead on one day of the war. Their response was to make excuses about havign little money in war contractor's right now! They siad these firms were overvalued so they are taking their profits(blood money).

In response they were told that they now have the opportunity to divest all the way from war without cost-or else face the consequences as we turn the war on Iraq into the next Huntingdon Life Sciences(HLS)! We explicitly gave the example of what has happened to HLS and why almost no reputable financial firm will do busines with them.

With corporate listservs whining about the spreading use of the tactics and stragegy that SHAC(Stop Huntingdon's Animal Cruely) is using against HLS, now was the time to lay on the pressure!
