On Monday demonstrators in Bridgport, Conneticut blockedd the gates of Sikorski, where black hawk helicopters are manufactored. They were protesting Plan Colombia. The Plan is aimed at reducing coca production and drug trafficing. It gives billions of dollars to Colombia, 1.7 of which come from the US. The majority is going to Colombia's military includes 42 Huey and 18 Black Hawk helicopters. Protester _____ has this to say ....soundz....
the parliment of the eurpopean union is also criticizing the plan. in a recent resolution they denounce the plan colobia for targetting only drug trafficking and ignoring the social, environmental and economic implications of increased militarization.
US Secritary of State Colin Powel was scheduled to meet with Colombian Foreign Minsiter Guillermo Rermandez de Soto on Tuesday under discussion is Plan Colombia.
