In October of this year the Pitstop ploughshares trial opened in Dublin Ireland. One of the international witnesses who came to Ireland for the trial was former United States Marine Corps Staff Sargent Jimmmy Massey from North Carolina. A public talk had been arranged and Massey was due to speak at Trinity College in Dublin city centre one evening during the trial. On the day the talk was due to take place Massey was in the Coffee shop at the Four Courts with a group of people, one of the group whan introduced to Jimmy Massey responded by describing him as "a war criminal".
