There are currently grand juries ongoing in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, New Jersey and other cities, which are targetting activists organizing for animal rights, environmental justice, and against oppression. Katya Komisaruk is a criminal defense lawyer with the Just Cause Law Collective, in Oakland, California. She served five years in federal prison, following a protest against nuclear weapons in 1987.

This morning, at 9 AM, three San Diego activists will appear before a federal grand jury. Danae Kelley, David Agranoff, and Michael Cardenas, all respected and well-known activists in San Diego, have refused to cooperate with the proceedings.
