The National Association of Broadcasters, or N.A.B. is the industry group representing commercial radio and TV stations in the US. and is perhaps the most influential lobbying body on Capitol Hill. Last week, as the N.A.B. held their annual "Radio Road Show" convention in San Diego, CA, local organizers with the Independent Media Center held an alternative gathering to assess the impact of increasing media consolidation, and to open up a dialogue about the successes and failures of the media democracy movement.
