Housing Minister Isaac Herzog, a member of the labor party, has approved 350 new housing units for Maaleeh Adoumim. Herzog said he made the decision in consultation with Amir Peretz, the newly-elected leader of his party. The expansion is seen as a move to attract more right-wing Israeli voters to the Labor Party in elections scheduled for March.
