The bid for Palestinian statehood is popular among the people of Palestine and the people of Israel. It is not popular in the Israeli political class, the U.S. corporate media, nor the White House. For different reasons, it's also not popular among many Palestinian and Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) activists.

First we had Danny Kofke on the phone, Danny is a Teacher & the Author of the book "How to Survive (and perhaps thrive) On a Teacher's Salary"... We talked about the ongoing letdown in the education system. Also, with the current economic climate, we talked about ways to save money, and stretch your paycheck further. We discuss some 'dear colleague' letters (dealing with Gaza) being circulated by US Representatives, we talk about the surge in Afghanistan, and upcoming Haitian elections. Note: Bob will be in Palestine from Dec 27, so we plan to bring coverage from there during his trip.

Shorter show than usual, weighing in at just over 22 minutes. Hope it might still be of use to some of you. Also - if you do make use of it, I'd appreciate being told (though notice isn't required for non-commercial broadcast use).

We discuss the upcoming decision on troop expansion in Afghanistan, the current situation in Honduras, and the recent successful strike by graduate employees at the University of Illinois. This is v.1 of the show, which is a fairly raw version of the conversation. Related audio and video (from the strike, etc.) is linked from acriticalear.info.

Weekly radio show from WRFU-LP, Urbana, IL. This edition was recorded the morning of 27 November, using Skype, and edited for broadcast that evening.

Content:
We started with a detailed discussion of the state of the agreement between the "Iraq security agreement" between the USA and Iraq. We move on to discussion of calls for diplomacy with Iran. We progress to examine Obama's appointments, so far, dealing with foreign policy and economics.

The original audio contains some digital artifacts at points, due to being recorded on Skype, but is suitable for broadcast.
